Introduction


A food manufacturing company required an efficient and hygienic material transfer solution for its production process. The handling of powdered and granular ingredients demanded a clean, enclosed, and reliable conveying method to maintain product quality while minimising contamination risks and manual handling.

Enge Plas Automation was engaged to provide a customised vacuum conveying solution tailored for food processing operations.

Challenges


The existing material handling process relied on manual transfer methods that created dust generation, inconsistent material flow, and increased housekeeping requirements. Open handling during transfer also made it difficult to maintain hygiene standards within the production environment.

In addition, the operation required a conveying system capable of ensuring reliable material movement while minimising product loss and reducing contamination risks throughout the process.

Solution


Enge Plas Automation supplied and integrated a vacuum conveying system comprising a Vacuum Hopper Loader, Dust Filtering Unit, and Stainless Steel Filter.

The Vacuum Hopper Loader enabled enclosed and efficient material transfer between processing stages while reducing manual handling requirements. The Dust Filtering Unit was incorporated to minimise airborne particles and maintain a cleaner working environment. A Stainless Steel Filter was also included to support hygienic operation and reliable filtration performance suitable for food manufacturing applications.

The complete system was designed to provide stable material conveying while enhancing cleanliness, operational efficiency, and process reliability.

Results


Following implementation, the manufacturer achieved smoother and more consistent material transfer throughout the production process. Dust generation was significantly reduced, improving plant cleanliness and reducing housekeeping effort.
